“…We’re in a practice of trusting authority, but continue to question what isn’t working. How do we see something that happens negatively upon us as a part of pure light of humanity? Everything is a form of spanda, or pulsation. With enough cloaking over time, the cloaked person behaves this way, it becomes the way of doing. Many things cause bad behavior. The question is always how do you come into contact with this stuff when it arises? How do you interact with it? Discern your place? We’re made up of same consciousness. Those that make decisions that destroy or impede upon the fundamental flows of positivity have less foundational grip on life, on spirituality. If you’re committed to community, family, love, you will have it…”

Spanda Karikas, stanza 21:
Atah satatam udyaktah spanda-tattva-viviktaya jadgradeva nijam bhavam acirenadhigacchati
Therefore, by becoming alert to the spanda even in waking life, the yogi becomes quickly established in her Self

This writing has a sutra-like flow–are they notes that you took in 2009? Journaling from a certain period of particular contemplation? Reminders to yourself during a challenge? Are you quoting someone? Reading these concepts the way you offer them above is like flirting with something simultaneously mysterious and familiar, which makes me feel them in a different way.
Thank you!

ha… yes lisa, they’re from a 2009 class in Canada with JF. My reflections on the teachings of the Spanda Karikas. and Yes, during a difficult time. So glad you enjoyed experiencing them in a different way. I am refreshed writing them in this way. Sorta like, who cares who said it? Its a great reflection. xj
